ACADEMIC RECOVERY PLANS (ARP)

Each month, our teachers conduct comprehensive reviews of all students in their classes, considering not only their academic performance in terms of grades but also taking a holistic approach to offer assistance and maintain open communication with parents/guardians. If a student is not meeting their individual academic benchmarks or is failing a course, they will temporarily be withdrawn from extracurricular activities and receive additional support from teachers to help them catch up. Teachers inform parents/guardians of their child’s progress and work collaboratively with our staff to provide the necessary support for the academic and personal development and success of our students.

HOLISTIC LEARNING APPROACH

Students follow a curriculum aligned with the Ministry of Education’s standards, but what sets our school apart is our emphasis on holistic development and Land-based learning. Our diverse range of activities includes meditation-based practices, camping, overnight canoe trips, and athletic tournaments in collaboration with the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board.
